Jewelry is one of those things that whether it’s costume or real, it makes an outfit complete. Don’t get me wrong, I have pieces of good jewelry that I wear constantly (i.e. the necklace J gave me for Christmas). I also have pieces that are so special, I save them so they don’t get lost (i.e. the diamond solitaire on a chain I won in a race). But costume jewelry is something that is fun, affordable and can be adjusted with the current trends.
This past weekend I got a tip from a friend telling me that our Charming Charlie’s was having a buy one, get one free offer on their clearance items. Just a heads up, it WAS a hunt. I did have to spend some time and really look through the mess. In the end of my little spree, I brought home four pieces for under $25 total. To show you what I bought, I wore each piece with a plain, black tank top.
Pink Leather “Bolo Tie” – I thought this necklace was low key and cute. You can adjust the height of the middle bar by sliding it up or down the leather. I can vision this with my silver flat sandals and a LBD.
Gold, Turquoise, White and Tan Layered Beads – I have another necklace similar to this one in a coral color and find that I grab it a lot, especially with denim or black. This one will take me into summer. I love all of the colors in this piece and it lays really nice.
Pink Beaded and Rope Necklace – This one is probably my favorite. I love the colors and style of it and the rope dials down the dressiness of the stones. I can vision this one with everything, from date night to work.
Tan, Silver and Gold Lariat with Stones – This one is a neutral piece that is versatile, yet fun. It’s very lightweight and easy to wear with anything.
Here are a few close-ups of the jewelry.
I am not an earring person, and I hate huge bracelets that bang on my wrist. Necklaces are my thing, and there’s nothing like a fun statement necklace!
