My bar cart has been a staple in my dining room for years now, and I find it especially relaxing to look for new ways to style it differently all year round. It’s functionality has been both practical and stylish, depending on the occasion. My cart is a nice size…not too narrow, but not too chunky. For the decor, I love to shop my house for items to incorporate on the cart [i.e: the stolen pictures from my bedroom].
The first way is not very practical, and more for show. The Monet painting was a gift from my parents years ago and I still love the colors in the piece. Normally it is behind my nightstand in the bedroom, but I brought it out here to add a backdrop to this vignette.
The bust with the pearls was another flea market find and it was white until this past summer. I thought she needed to be freshened up a bit, so a little black spray paint did it’s magic.
I recently purchased the letter board and I have to say, it’s been used several times already! My daughter had fun writing the message on the board. It was her idea to make the letters appear more whimsical and I think it was a good choice.
The easel was a flea market find a few years back. It is rather large and normally holds a picture on my dresser. I think the sign looks great on it and the picture may need to find another home when the easel is in use.
When I travel, I like to bring back pretty postcards from the location. This one I found on our visit to Nashville this past fall. I loved the colors of the roses tucked into the cowboy boots and the twine frame adds a bit of texture to the photo. Some of my favorite books always on rotation around the house are Eddie Ross’s Modern Mix and Domino’s second book.

Finally, the XOXO figurine was a Home Goods find and it only comes out around Valentine’s Day.
The second vignette is a little more romantic and practical. The picture is another one stolen from my bedroom wall. I thought the pale colors and the sensual drawing created a nice background to the cart. I kept the letter board and gold easel, but added some vintage wine glasses and a few bottles of wine.
I purchased these Valentine flags for my dinner this coming Saturday, but I liked the little bit of color they added to the white vases.

Here are some ways that it’s been styled in the past:
Have a great day! xo
